Toms Restaurant in Brooklyn

This is my favorite diner in NYC. The traditional diner food is exactly what you'd want it to be. The only problem is I can never decide between pancakes and eggs!!! Ugh!!! It is also really fun and funky inside, and the waitstaff is really nice and funny and super fast. On the weekends there is a line out the door but it is worth the wait. And sometimes the waitstaff brings you little surprise treats while you're waiting. If I can, I'll bring my friend Adrian The Actor here when we meet up. Adrian's been looking for the best diner in NYC and this is it!

Good portion but with significantly subpar cleanliness and freshness. Grilled chicken cutlet sandwich was not made with microwaved overcooked chicken. Western omelette and homefries are very dry and overcooked. Utensils are not well cleaned. The hot sauce came with a long hair in my plate. Will not visit this place again.

Good vibe, quite busy at the time being there (saturday morning). Great pancakes, eggs florentine not so much.

One of the better diner burgers I’ve ever had. Special sauce (think it had a bit of a mustard base?) was delicious. Gets a little crowded, and you’ll probably have to wait in line during peak hours. But I thought it was worth it!

This place has a certain charm to it and evokes Americana right down to the counter when you walk in. The place can get busy as I've been here on a random Tuesday at 11:30 and there was still a decent crowd. The pancakes are a definite must try. Each order includes three very generously sized pancakes, syrup, and different flavored butter shots. You'll want to try all the different types they have but man are they filling! Service is very quick too.

Tom's is ALWAYS a winner. Turkey cheeseburger with sweet potato fries was the winner for today. Friendly staff, geat food,, and a recently built backyard for outdoor seating is a perfect combination.

From the moment you step in this place the personel give you an excellent feeling. Very congenial hosts, it is a nice place to enjoy with friends and colleagues or with your date. Excellent meals, qualified chief cook and stuff, decent price and courteous service. Highly recommended.

If you want to experience a true American diner in New York come here. It does not look like much from the outside. Space is limited inside and there is usually a line to get inside. You will wonder, "is it worth it?" But when you get inside you start to understand why. It is naturally cute and kitschy, not staged. The menu is very diverse and yet unique, featuring diner fare with New York influences. The food is great! You really should try the beef sausage while there. Wonderful!

This place was packed from the moment we walked in, and I can see why! Killer breakfast. They gave us coffee to drink while we stood and waited, and the coffee was great! The people were friendly and the food was fantastic. Portions were awesome, but we definitely had leftovers. We went in around lunch time, so of you go in around that time, expect a bit of a wait. It is well worth the wait though!

I visited this place about six years ago and wanted to visit again with my daughter. It is very busy and rather cramped but the staff are helpful, the pancakes are okay and there is a variety to choose from. However I wouldn't queue for the food as I saw the people doing today. The accompanying dishes to the pancakes such as the eggs and bacon ( or even the coffee) could be better quality and taste. It is cheap and cheerful fare, so always worth a visit.

Walking in the door you feel transported in time. Old school NY diner littered with memories and a comfortable feel. The food and service, however, left a little to be desired. I watched countless people get up and refill their own water glasses, coffee refills were random and scarce. The banana pancakes were super underwhelming, and had nuts that werent mentioned on the menu. Getting in and out was a chore as a crowd had gathered and you have to pay at the counter.

Yum. Good old fashioned American diner. Crispy home fries and gigantic omelets, or a range of sandwiches. Prices are shockingly low for NYC. Definitely worth the wait.

Tom's has been one of my favorite breakfast spots since a kid! I love how you have so many delicious breakfast options to choose from! The waiters are the best as well! Never had a fluffy pancake I didn't like! The waffles are also delicious!

It was good. Crowded but that's a good thing. The pancakes are good but nothing special. They have chocolate French toast. That's actually good and sweet as all get out. The beverages aren't anything to rave about. The service is lightning fast. Food in 15 minutes. That's not an exaggeration. Prices are decent. It's a landmark I believe.

The food here is really good, everything you can tell was made from the heart. And they have an awesome menu too.

Was recommended by our Air BnB host. A classic American diner experience. Friendly and quick service. On the expensive side, but hearty food. We ordered omelettes (one bacon, one broccoli and cheese), have the choice of grits, home fries or French fries on side, plus served with toast.

Popular diner with a storied history. The walls are full of magic and nostalgia. The portions are large. Super great for breakfast, brunch, lunch. Old school setting and flavors. Friendly service, genuinely warm. Crowded, bustling. Filling. Good lighting, long bar, New York vibe. Cash only, ATM on premises.

The menu is varied but every single dish we ordered was delicious. The coffee was strong with free refills. Service was great. The queue moves quickly.

Great pancakes, friendly service, huge portions. However looking at photos wish I got cinnamon swirl. Worth a trip back!!!
